Alessandro DinNello Presents the Small Business Person of the Year Award to Al Cavasin

At a celebration of the Greater Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce's 95th Annual Meeting and Jackson's 175th Birthday, the "Small Business Person of the Year Award" was presented to Great Northern Sentry Co. CEO, Al Cavasin. Before a record gathering of more than 700 people Flagstar Bank Community President, Allessandro DiNello, lauded Cavasin for his tenacity and commitment to the community. Visibly moved by the honor, Cavasin said he "...was taken completely by surprise...". He said: "I knew I had been nominated for this award several years in a row, but I always beleived there were hundreds of people more deserving than I." At the podium, Cavasin shared his commitment to supporting local businesses as the key to building strong, viable and healthy communities, by relating a story from his past to illustrate the point.
